Don is a Registered Investment Advisor, and an Accredited Investment Fiduciary^™, with over 35 years in the investment industry.

Don began his investment career in 1983 with EF Hutton serving both retail and institutional clients.  He joined TD Waterhouse (now TD Ameritrade) in 1998, as Vice President of Institutional Development and served as a member of TD’s Institutional Executive Committee. Responsible for product development, he designed and implemented the firm's first Separate Account program (SMA) and AdvisorDirect, TD Ameritrade's highly successful advisor referral program, which has resulted in billions of dollars under management for the firm. 

Living through multiple market boom and bust cycles, Don has learned that the best way to participate and keep market gains is first to reduce downside risk.  Unfortunately, often, what Wall St. promotes as a “safe” investment is for self-serving reasons, and not always in the best interest of the client. His disillusionment with the way investment products are created and marketed led to the creation of Global Macro Asset Management.

Don lives in the Las Vegas Valley and serves Advisors and clients locally and nationally.

Personal

A Chicago native and California resident for 35 years before moving to Las Vegas in 2009. Don, a self-acknowledged “foodie,” enjoys the wonderful restaurants Las Vegas has to offer, and was also Educateur for the Las Vegas Chapter of the Commanderie de Bordeaux. The Commanderie acts as the emissary of the Bordeaux winemakers, broadening the appreciation of the wines of Bordeaux in the US. https://www.commanderie.org/

He is also a film buff, and jazz aficionado. In a previous life, he was an Engineer and Producer for Fantasy and CBS Records in San Francisco. His music industry experience gives him an appreciation of the unique financial issues entertainers, athletes, and others who experience sudden wealth face.

His other passions outside the investment business are cars, dogs, and, most of all, his family.
